Privacy Policy

Every time you leave a comment on a tutorial, sign up for our email list, or simply load a page on this site, you are trusting us with a small amount of information about yourself. That trust deserves a straight answer about what happens next.

This policy sets out what Just One Craft collects, why we collect it, who else can see it, and what you can ask us to do about it. It applies to justonecraft.com and to any form, comment section, or mailing list operated on it.

Your Agreement to This Policy

By accessing or using justonecraft.com, you consent to this Privacy Policy and to the collection and use of information as described in it. If you do not agree with any part of it, please stop using the site.

Where the law requires your consent for particular processing, such as non-essential cookies or marketing emails, we ask for it separately, and you may withdraw it at any time.

Children Under 13

Just One Craft is written for adult crafters and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13, and children under 13 should not submit any information through this website.

Some craft projects on this site are made with children, but the site itself is intended to be used by the supervising adult. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information to Just One Craft, email evelynashfords@hotmail.com and we will delete it from our records promptly.

Information Collected on This Site

Information reaches us in two ways. Some of it you give us on purpose. The rest is gathered automatically by ordinary web technology when any browser loads a page.

Information you provide directly:

  • Your name and email address, when you subscribe to our newsletter, leave a comment, or contact us
  • The content of any message, comment, question, or project photo you send us
  • Your website address, if you choose to include one with a comment
  • Any information you volunteer in correspondence, such as details about a project you are working on
  • Payment or billing details, if the site ever offers a paid product, in which case those details are handled by a third-party payment processor and not stored by us

Information collected automatically:

  • Your IP address and general geographic region
  • Browser type and version, operating system, and device type
  • Screen size and language settings
  • Internet service provider
  • Date and time stamps for your visit
  • The pages you view, the time spent on them, and the links you click
  • The referring page or search that brought you to Just One Craft

This information arrives through contact and subscription forms, the comment system, server log files, cookies, analytics tools, and similar technologies described below.

Why We Use It

Just One Craft uses the information collected for these purposes:

  • Operating, maintaining, and securing the website
  • Understanding which tutorials and topics readers find useful so we can improve and update them
  • Responding to your questions, corrections, and comments
  • Sending our newsletter and other messages you have asked to receive
  • Personalizing what you see, such as remembering preferences between visits
  • Detecting, preventing, and investigating spam, fraud, and technical abuse
  • Meeting our legal and regulatory obligations

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your email address with other publishers or marketers.

Server Log Files

Like nearly every website, justonecraft.com uses log files. Our hosting provider records standard information each time a page is requested, including IP addresses, browser type, internet service provider, referring and exit pages, date and time stamps, and click data.

This information is not linked to anything that personally identifies you. It is used to analyze traffic patterns, diagnose server problems, and keep the site secure.

Cookies on This Site

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website so it can recognize your browser on a later visit. Just One Craft uses them to keep the site working properly and to understand how it is being used.

Cookies here fall into a few groups. Necessary cookies handle basic functions such as page navigation, security, and remembering that you have dismissed a notice. Preference cookies remember choices like your comment details so you do not have to retype them. Analytics cookies help us count visits and see which pages are read. If advertising is served on the site, advertising cookies may also be set by our partners.

You can control cookies through your browser settings, including blocking them or deleting existing ones. Instructions are in the help section of your browser. Turning off cookies is your right, though some parts of the site may not work as intended afterward.

Web Beacons, Pixels, and Tags

Just One Craft and its partners may use web beacons, tracking pixels, and tags. These are tiny, invisible files embedded in pages or emails that register when content has been viewed.

They are used to measure page and email engagement, understand general site usage, and, where advertising is present, to help partners measure the performance of what they serve. This technology does not read files on your device or collect anything beyond the interaction data described in this policy. Blocking images in your email client will stop most email tracking pixels from loading.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics, a service provided by Google LLC, to understand how visitors find and use justonecraft.com. It collects information such as pages viewed, time on site, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser details, and referral sources.

The data is aggregated and used to improve our content. Google’s handling of this information is governed by its own privacy policy, available at https://policies.google.com/privacy. You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting your data by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Advertising on This Site

Just One Craft may work with third-party advertising partners now or in the future. Those partners, and the vendors they work with, may place and read cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies on your device in order to serve advertisements and to measure how they perform.

This may include interest-based advertising, meaning ads selected based on your prior browsing across websites rather than on anything you have told us directly. These partners collect that information under their own privacy policies, and Just One Craft does not control what they do with it. We do not provide your name or email address to advertising partners.

You can opt out of personalized advertising from many companies at once through the Network Advertising Initiative at https://optout.networkadvertising.org and the Digital Advertising Alliance at https://optout.aboutads.info. European visitors can use https://www.youronlinechoices.eu. Opting out does not remove advertising, it only makes what you see less tailored.

Affiliate Links and Commissions

Just One Craft participates in affiliate programs, including the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.

When you click an affiliate link for a craft tool, material, or supply and go on to make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. Affiliate networks may set their own cookies to attribute that purchase, and any personal information you enter on the retailer’s site is collected by that retailer under its own privacy policy. Our separate Affiliate Disclosure page has more detail.

Content Embedded From Other Sites

Some articles on Just One Craft include embedded content such as videos, images, or posts from other websites. Embedded content behaves exactly as if you had visited the source website directly.

That means the third party may collect data about you, set its own cookies, use additional tracking, and monitor your interaction with the embedded item, particularly if you have an account and are logged in with them. We have no control over that collection.

Links to Other Websites

This site links to external websites, including retailers, manufacturers, and other publications. Once you follow one of those links, you are on someone else’s site and this policy no longer applies.

Just One Craft is not responsible for the content or privacy practices of any third-party website. We recommend reading the privacy policy of any site you visit from here.

Comments and Social Media

When you leave a comment, we collect what you type in the comment form, along with your IP address and browser user agent string, which helps with spam detection. Your name and comment become publicly visible on the site. Your email address is not published.

Comments may be checked through an automated spam filtering service. If you interact with Just One Craft on social platforms such as Pinterest, Instagram, or Facebook, those interactions are governed by the privacy policy of the platform in question, not by this one.

Our Newsletter and Email Practices

If you subscribe, Just One Craft uses your email address to send project ideas, new tutorials, seasonal round-ups, and occasional updates about the site. Some of these emails may contain affiliate links, and any promotional content is identified as such.

In line with the CAN-SPAM Act, we do not use false or misleading subject lines or headers, we identify our messages honestly, we include a valid postal or contact route, and every email carries a working unsubscribe link. We do not sell, rent, or trade our subscriber list.

Opting Out and Managing Your Preferences

You can leave the mailing list at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email from Just One Craft, and the change takes effect immediately.

You may also email evelynashfords@hotmail.com to be removed, to ask us to stop processing your information, or to request that a comment of yours be deleted. Cookies and interest-based advertising can be managed through the browser settings and opt-out tools described earlier in this policy.

When Information Is Shared

Just One Craft does not sell your personal information. We share it only in these circumstances:

  • Service providers. Companies that host the site, deliver our emails, filter spam, or provide analytics may process data on our behalf, limited to what their service requires.
  • Legal obligations. We may disclose information where required by law, court order, or a valid request from a public authority, or where necessary to protect our rights, safety, or property, or those of our readers.
  • Business transfers. If the site or its assets are ever sold or transferred, user information may pass to the new owner, subject to this policy.

How Long Information Is Kept

Comments and their metadata are retained indefinitely so that follow-up replies can be recognized and approved automatically rather than held in a moderation queue.

Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe, after which your address is suppressed or deleted. Emails you send us are retained as long as needed to handle the matter and to keep a record of any correction made. Analytics and log data are held for a limited period set within the relevant tool. You may request deletion of your personal data at any time.

Keeping Your Data Secure

Just One Craft applies reasonable, industry-standard measures to protect the information it holds, including encrypted connections, access controls on the site’s administrative areas, and reputable service providers.

No method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, so while we work to protect your information, absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

Rights of Visitors in the European Economic Area and the UK

If you are located in the EEA or the United Kingdom, the General Data Protection Regulation gives you the following rights over your personal data:

  • Access. Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification. Have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected.
  • Erasure. Ask us to delete your personal data where there is no overriding reason to keep it.
  • Restriction. Ask us to limit how we process your data.
  • Objection. Object to processing carried out on the basis of our legitimate interests, and to direct marketing at any time.
  • Portability. Receive your data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format, or have it transferred to another controller.
  • Withdrawal of consent. Withdraw consent at any point where processing relies on it, without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal.
  • Complaint. Lodge a complaint with your national data protection supervisory authority.

Send any request to contact@justonecraft.com. We respond within one month, and there is no charge for making a request.

Rights of California Residents

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, California residents have the right to:

  • Know what categories of personal information Just One Craft has collected, the sources it came from, the purposes for collecting it, and the categories of third parties it has been shared with.
  • Delete personal information we have collected, subject to legal exceptions.
  • Opt out of the sale of personal information. Just One Craft does not sell personal information as that term is defined in the CCPA, and does not sell the personal information of minors.
  • Non-discrimination, meaning you will not receive worse service or different pricing for exercising any of these rights.

To make a request, including a “Do Not Sell My Personal Information” request, email evelynashfords@hotmail.com. We confirm receipt and respond within one month, and we may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

Changes to This Policy

Just One Craft may revise this Privacy Policy as the site changes, as the tools we use change, or as the law requires. The current version is always the one published on this page, with the effective date shown below.

Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy, so checking this page occasionally is worth the minute it takes.
